Building a waterfeature of this magnitude requires expertise with design as well as the long-term performance of materials and equipment. A flexible liner for the ponds and streams was selected to allow options as the design matured during construction. This waterfeature was built to last into perpetuity, so an extra-thick, flexible membrane was needed. We used a Firestone PondGard liner, which fit the requirements of being 60 mils thick, fish-safe and made from EPDM (rubber). This material — once sandwiched between layers of 10-ounce geotextile fabric — provided a guaranteed, protected and watertight system.
