It is the classic conundrum. For many years we have heard about the epidemic, whereby good professionals fall short of being good company owners or managers because they spend too much time working in the business, and not enough time working on the business. Many started their company for the love of the craft — not love of the spreadsheet. So it can become very easy to fall back on putting out fires and put off assessing, setting goals and navigating the company to the place you want to reach.
