One of Europe’s largest pool and spa trade shows reported that it’s becoming even larger.

aquanale 2019-International Trade Fair for Sauna, Pool and Ambience, held in Cologne last month, reported increased numbers. Co-located with FSB-International Trade Fair for Public Space, Sports and Leisure Facilities, the event saw a 6% increase in attendance over the previous iteration in 2017, with 28,000 attendees hailing from 128 countries. They visited 281 exhibitors from 31 countries.

The International Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum also took place in conjunction with the event, presented by the German Association for Swimming Pools and Wellness and the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities.

Organizers credit the growth of aquanale (branded in lowercase) to an increased emphasis on globality, as well as the inclusion of public pools and related products. They reported that 67% of this year’s visitors came from outside Germany, while 56% of exhibitors crossed borders to attend.

“With aquanale’s increased international character and the rise in visitor numbers, the trade fair has reached new heights and underlined its importance for the international pool and wellness sector in impressive fashion,” said Matthias Pollmann, vice president of Koelnmesse, which presents the trade show.
