Intermatic Inc., a maker of timer controls, surge protection, transformers and electrical control panels, has purchased pool/spa equipment manufacturer Aquapro Systems.

With the investment, Libertyville, Ill.-based Intermatic plans to increase its offerings in the pool/spa market. New lines of pumps, filters, heat pumps, air blowers and other products will be added. Aquapro produces energy-efficient equipment for inground, aboveground and soft-sided pools.

“We’re building for the future,” says Intermatic President/CEO Rick Boutilier. “Along with our industry-leading timers and energy controls, our goal is to leverage our manufacturing excellence and customer insights to deliver pool and spa solutions that span the entire pool pad.”

Aquapro products will transition to the Intermatic brand. Product warranty support and related customer service also will be absorbed into Intermatic.
