We at Pool & Spa News believe that the best companies excel in a variety of business disciplines, in addition to exhibiting technical mastery. That’s why, for our Top 50 Service program, we ask companies to supply plenty of information about themselves so we can apply five judging criteria:

  1. Revenue: We ask for companies’ revenue originating from residential and commercial service.
  2. Staff management: Because we believe staff is the most important resource a company has, we ask applicants for information on issues such as training and staff longevity.
  3. Industry involvement: Participation in organizations both inside and outside the industry makes for more well-connected firms and better industry citizens.
  4. Web presence: These companies effectively use the web to position themselves in the universe of service options.
  5. Community service: These firms add another dimension to their role in the community.
