Former Owner Arrested for Allegedly Trashing Pool Store

The suspect is believed to have caused more than $1 million in damage.

The former owner of a pool supply store was arrested in March on accusations that he trashed his store, causing more than $1 million in damage.

Ron Ulfers is the former owner of Clearwater Pool & Spa in Covington, La. He sold the business and allegedly committed the act while employed as a consultant, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies went to Clearwater Pool shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 20 after Ulfers reported that the business had been broken into and ransacked during the previous night, authorities said. The building was vandalized with much of the contents destroyed or heavily damaged.

Ulfurs was booked with criminal damage over $50,000, two counts of injuring public records and one count of theft between $1,000 and $5,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
