The Association of Pool and Spa Professionals has hired a western office director, making good on its goal to begin ramping up its presence near the Left Coast as part of an expansion effort.

Jennifer Farwell will work from her home office in the Sacramento, Calif. metro area. “She’s the face of APSP there, but she’s supported by the entire staff,” said APSP President/CEO Rich Gottwald. “We want to bring the same services [to California] that they can receive in the rest of the country.”

As Farwell begins campaigning to promote membership in the national organization, she is traveling throughout the state to meet current and potential members to learn what types of services and education they would like. In the near future, “We’ll be looking for opportunities in surrounding states,” she said.

Farwell also will participate in government advocacy efforts in the Golden State and the west.

She brings a background in operations and sales management in several regulated industries, including construction, insurance and telecom. Her last position was with Zoom Imaging Solutions.
