Joe Vassallo, Paragon Pools’ president, and Duckie, the Float Like A Duck mascot, invite families to join them for the 10th Annual Paragon Pools water safety event.

Las Vegas-based Paragon Pools has been honored for its “Float Like A Duck” water safety campaign with the 2013 Communitas Award. The award recognizes businesses, groups and individuals for excellence in community service and corporate social responsibility.

The free three-hour event, which partners with community organizations such as the YMCA, Las Vegas Fire and Metro Departments, and local media, includes access to a waterpark; swimming and floating lessons; fire trucks to explore; games and dancing; and interacting with Duckie, the event mascot.

Paragon President Joseph Vassallo began the program a decade ago to educate the public on the importance of safety while celebrating the joy of water sports.

“As a pool builder, I felt it was my responsibility to ensure residents had the tools to keep their family members safe around any body of water, be it at a residence, a resort or at the lake,” Vassallo said.

Paragon Pools will celebrate the 10th anniversary of this community service event May 25.
